Microenterprise Development
OIC-CI’s microenterprise development services assist rural and urban entrepreneurs to start, improve and diversify their small businesses. Our main focus is centered on developing micro-credit groups where the members are responsible for group formation, loan distribution and loan repayment enforcement. We provide training in the form of course modules and seminars to teach participants how to create a small business, how to manage a business, and how to effectively profit from their enterprise. Recipients include farmer’s groups, informal sector businesses, agriculture distributors and producers
Post-Conflict Rehabilitation
With funding by the United Nations Program for Development under a grant from the French Cooperation Fund, OIC-CI’s pilot program aims to rehabilitate ex-combatants and child soldiers, providing with the counseling and skills they need to successfully reenter society and obtain gainful employment. As of October 2009, the program has achieved a 93% success rate, with over 650 of the 700 participants placed in jobs or helped to establish their own businesses.
