Member : Vijaya Melnick, Ph.D.
Dr. Melnick is Professor Emeritus of Biological & Environmental Sciences and served as Director of the Center for Applied Research and Urban Policy, and most recently as the Director of the Office of Sponsored Research & Programs at the University of the District of Columbia. She is Associate Director, International Center for Interdisciplinary Studies in Immunology, Georgetown University Medical Center and member of the Health Care Ethics Faculty at Howard University Medical College.
She has served as Principal Investigator on several research projects and has authored a number of articles and books. Dr. Melnick serves on the boards and executive committees of several national and international organizations concerned with health and education, and she is listed in various Who’s Who publications.
She received her Ph.D. and postdoctoral training in cell biology at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
