Member : John A. Cole, Ph.D.
Dr. John Cole is the interim chair in the Department of Economics and Finance at North Carolina A&T State University. He received his PhD in business administration/finance from the University of Michigan after completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Alberta in Canada. An entrepreneur and consultant, Dr. Cole serves on the board of directors of the South Carolina Community Bank. Prior to his current appointment, Dr. Cole was the founding dean of the School of Business and Economics at Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina, and also served as dean in its School of Professional Programs, where he oversaw the introduction of new academic programs and the accreditation of others.
Dr. Cole’s scholarly publications have appeared in journals such as the Review of Black Political Economy, Journal of Portfolio Management, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, and Advances in Financial Economics. His comments and opinions have appeared in Black Issues in Higher Education, Diverse, New York Times, Washington Post, and the Wall Street Journal.
